Mistletoe

Weave the mistletoe and holly

In the dancing locks of Polly;

Do a rag-time dance and jolly;

            Banish care!

Kiss the lips of Jen and Molly,

Clasp the dimpled chin of Dolly,

And of Polly—laughing Polly—

            Oh, beware!

‘Neath the white and scarlet berry

touch the luscious lips of Mary,

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,

            Don’t you know?

Tune your voice up and be merry,

Life’s a white and scarlet berry,

Christmas is a glad time, very!

            Don’t be slow!

Wreathe the mistletoe and holly,

Clasp the dimpled hand of Polly,

Bend and kiss the lips of Molly,

            Banish woe!

Clasp the yielding waist of Dolly,

Catch the dancing, twinkling Polly!

Folly is a mark each jolly

            Miss’ll toe.
